My Dell 3700WFPHC monitor won't work with my 2011 apple mac mini lion server?

I'm using the HDMI to DVI cable. the highest resolution is shows is 1280 x 800, I want to take it up to the 2560 x 1440 that i was using on my PC earlier, i looked through support forums, can't find anyone that had a concrete solution.
on the dual-link DVI cable and the miniDisplayPort-to-Dual-Link-DVI, any brand names, or links you can refer me to on amazon or another site.
thanks

That will NEVER work.

A DVI-to-HDMI cable is SINGLE-LINK ONLY. They only support up to 1920x1200 resolution.

If you want to use the full 2560x1600 resolution of your Dell 3007WFP-HC monitor on your Mac Mini, you need a miniDisplayPort-to-Dual-Link-DVI adapter (which is not cheap) and a dual-link DVI cable.
