IPOD Virgin needs info?
Pardon me for being such an old relic - but I have not gotten an Ipod yet and I need some info. First - please note- the thing I really need it for is IN MY CAR. The CD player in my car has never worked well -- never will - I am too rough on my cars (live on 20 acre farm - lots of dust & dirt in the Jeep). So -- could I finally get music in the car via an Ipod?? I do not want to do it with earbuds - cops wont let you in my state.

Couldn't I just sit the speakers in my car and I'd be set?
Also - once I have an IPOD, where do I go to download music AND - most important thing -- I am not yet believing that they will have the music I want to hear. It is old and some is obscure. Jethro Tull, which is old and Steeleye Span, which is obscure.

You buy the external speakers made for the ipod and you can play it that way. Logitech makes them just for ipod, they are good too, I have some.
Also you must download itunes from apples website, it's free, then make an itunes store account via the Store menu inside itunes. The store most likely has all the music you want, especially classic rock. You can do a Search inside itunes and it will pop up.
Use caution with the ipod, it can get wet or too dusty or you will ruin it for good. If it's the hard disk based ipod classic severe bumps on the farm can mess up the spinning disk hard drive, so you may be better off with a flash drive base nano or touch.
